Hi guys,

We have purchased a ARC and a Song A80L TV and was wondering if we can play the Sony featured inbuilt speakers Sony highly rate along with the ARC by using the HDMI(ARC) input?

any advice would be appreciated

No, you cannot play audio out of the Arc and TV’s internal speakers at the same time. Using the TV speakers as a center channel speaker is only supported with specific Sony soundbar/audio systems.

The Sonos Arc will play whatever audio is sent to it via the HDM-ARC/eARC connection.  If your TV will send audio to the Arc AND play the audio through it’s in built speakers, then you can do it.  In other words, it’s a question for Sony.

You could probably do it with a combination of third party devices like HDMI splitters and HDMI-ARC emulators (HDFury Arcana)  as well.

Please be aware though that Sonos would not be aware that another speaker system is playing the same audio.  It’s not going to skip playing center channel audio and have Sony speakers cover that, for example.  It can’t ensure the speakers are in sync, and can’t include Sony speakers in tuning.  I really doubt you will find that including Sony speakers is an improvement.

Ok no problem at all guys, thanks for getting back so quickly 👍🏻
