Sonos Beam not connecting to Samsung Series 8/One Connect

I have just received by beam and set it up on my existing network. 
 

when it came to connecting the TV I tried the HDMI(Arc) connection on the Samsung One Connect Box. I checked that Samsung Anynet was on. The app said no signal was received. 
 

so I reverted to the optical input and it worked well. 
 

later reading about the hdmi connection I noted that others had said other connections could block it. I removed all other hdmi cables, rebooted both tv and beam and set it up again. 
 

the arc refused to connect to HDMI again but then the speaker started working. As soon as I added another HDMI it lost the connection. 
 

so I tried to go back to optical. But not it says that it can not detect the adaptor. 
 

so now I can’t connect to HDMI or optical and nothing seems to work. 
 

please can anyone help!?

Omg!  Please ignore and forgive me. The hdmi cable had worked loose from the back of the beam 🙄

 

 all working fine.
