Why does the Sonos Beam Gen2 increases Sony Bravia TV volume by 2 levels instead of 1?
How can I fix this? Please help.

I reached out to Sonos Support and got this detailed explanation of the behavior:
This happens because Sony Bravia sends loudness commands in increments of 2 when HDMI-CEC is used with Sonos Beam.
HDMI-CEC sends “increase volume” as repeated commands rather than as a number.
HDMI-CEC does not allow the TV to send “Set volume to X%.”
Instead, it only has two commands:
- Increase volume
- Decrease volume
Each button on the TV remote sends a signal pulse, and the receiving device (Sonos) interprets the pulse as one or more loudness steps.
Sony Bravia TVs are known to send two CEC loudness commands for each button, not just one.
This is intentional:
Sony TVs do not have separate volume values via HDMI-CEC.
They send a “burst” of two commands because Sony assumes that the receiving sound system uses a coarser decibel scale.
One press = command to increase volume by TWO steps.
This is why the volume jumps 2 steps
