I have just installed a Sky Glass TV and tried to connect to y Sonos Beam with 2 Play 1’s and a Sub. Having some issues with the Sky Glass remote controlling the volume etc. Any one else having similar issues?

Just as a ‘temporary’ measure only, maybe take any ‘other’ infrared TV remote and setup that with the Beam and see what happens in that instance and then switch back to the Sky remote - it may help to see if there is an issue with your Sky remote etc. if the ‘other’ remote works well for you.

If the other remote is problematic aswell, then I would perhaps see if moving the Beam slightly further forward, away from the TV might improve the connection to the IR receiver… if the problems persist, then you can perhaps submit a diagnostic report (after testing), note it’s reference and contact/chat to Sonos Support Staff via this LINK.

Nice TV - I don’t have one, but what issues are you having with Sonos Beam volume control, which presumably is via HDMI-CEC for that device.

Also perhaps see this if this link assists:

At a ‘quick glance’ through the Sky forum, it appears you may have to switch the Sky remote over to infrared using buttons 4 & 6 on the remote and then setup IR control in the Sonos App - so see this link too:

Thanks Ken. The issue is that although I have managed to connect the Sky Remote to operate the volume on the Beam, you have to be very close to the TV and hold the Remote at a certain angle (annoying). Also the volume control is not smooth, its either way to loud or too soft and it takes a bit of fiddling to get a “reasonable” volume.

Obviously that’s not working as it should be - so are you using the infrared option (having setup the TV remote separately in the Sonos App) or are you using the TV HDMI-CEC control?
