I’m hoping someone can help!

I have just purchased the new Sonos ARC Ultra (Previously had the Ray). It works perfectly when i connect spotify, the sound is great.

The issue I have, is that when i turn my Sky Q on, it disconnects the sound from the Sonos Arc to use the TV Speaker (Samsung). The setting dissapears to use the HDMI ARC function so i’m unable to change.

Very frustrating and i have tried multiple troubleshooting options but still no luck!

It worked fine with the Ray

Any help, would be much appreciated!

I’m tempted to return my new Arc Ultra...

Can you explain how you have connected your TV, Arc, and any external sources?

The Arc Ultra is via HDMI and the Sky Q is via HDMI (separate ports).

So your TV is automatically switching speakers?

Can you confirm the model of Sams9TV and I'll check the specs and audio settings.

Unfortunately, yes.
As soon as the Sky is detected, it switch’s to the TV speakers and removes any option to have the HDMI Arc function, completely disappears.

Model is Samsung UE55BU8000

Okay, I’ve looked through the manual below:

https://www.samsung.com/levant/support/model/UA55BU8000UXTW/#downloads

Can you try these settings:

1/ Is your Arc connected to the HDMI-eARC port?

2/ Page 138 - Have you set the sound mode to HDMI-eARC Mode?  Have you set the Digital Output Audio Format to Pass-through?

3/ Page 139 - Have you turned Dolby Atmos to On?

4/ Page 140 - What setting is selected for Sound Output?

Appreciate your help here. I tried all those points, multiple times and nothing seemed to work!

I purchased a CEC blocker which acts as an adapter. I’ve plugged the sky HDMI into this, then I to the TV. Voila! It works. It seems as if there was interference between the two HDMIs which is crazy as that’s there job!

All sorted now so if anyone has a similar problem, just get yourself a CEC Jammer.
