So i have a set up like this:

1) Sonos Arc

2) Apple TV 4K (2nd gen)

3) Benq HT3550 Projector

is it possible to have eARC work?

Problem 1:

As of right now the main problem is that sonos arc connects to apple tv via wifi. This makes it “temporary” source and sometimes i start a movie and then go back to apple tv setting to change the source because once in a while it will switch back to the projector speakers

Problem 2:

Apple TV only has 1 hdmi port. Should i get one of those hdmi audio extractors and connect Sonos arc into it? Will it work? Will eARC work? Could you please link me to one that will work on Amazon? Do I need anything else for this to work?

Note: I have this cable to connect Sonos Arc

I found this device and almost bought it, but then in the product images it says it won’t work with Sonos Arc

Sonos Arc does come with HDMI to ESPDIF adapter and i read that a direct HDMI connection to eARC is preferred. Also just to mention, I would like the unit to be smaller because my projector is mounted to the ceiling. I really don't care to connect anything else to the projector or having remotes and stuff.

EDIT:

I just ordered this with my limited research, but if you say that this won’t work for me or there is a better device, I’ll be happy to purchase that and return this one:

I will greatly appreciate your input!!!

Full disclosure: I’m not an AppleTV user.

Based on its specs, the BlueAVS cable should work.

With respect to the AppleTV, it does not connect to the SONOS ARC. Use the HCMI-eARC cable between the projector and AppleTV. Connect AppleTV to the projector.  If there is a control spat between AppleTV and the other components, you may need to insert a CEC blocker between AppleTV and projector. This will dumb down some AppleTV control options, such as turning everything ON when you issue a command from the AppleTV remote, but this is a relatively minor operator inconvenience.

Note: the specs on this projector says it has ARC, 2 channel. Which is neither eARC or full ARC, so you will need an external device to create the full eARC (Atmos) signal.

Really confused with your reply. Very new to this topic.

Wouldn’t this work? → Connect Apple TV (which only has one hdmi connection) to this device https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CDNYH3WN from that device connect to projector and connect to sound bar? Make sure to use eARC cables. Wouldn’t it work?

I only need the projector for image. Sound is coming from Apple TV. Would you look at my reply just above this one and tell me if that would work?

If not across the HDMI cable, the Apple TV will only send a stereo signal to a non-Apple device, either via AirPlay 2 or via Bluetooth. This information is mostly for others who come upon this thread ;)

But yes, I think the use of that linked OREI device should work, as you say. The Apple TV to the OREI, and then cables to both the Arc and the projector. I suspect OREI has significantly less costs to cover, last I looked they didn’t have anything like the support options that HD Fury provides.

Not a ton of people around this forum with experience with them, to my knowledge.
