I already have an arc based 5.1 system using a connect:amp to power the rear surround speakers.
I’m wondering if there are any plans to provide external amp powered height or ceiling atmos speakers to create a true 5.1.2 system rather than using reflected sound from the arc to produce the additional .2 height effect.
We don’t know and historically SONOS has not provided any road map of future plans.
Do you think there is any demand for this other than me?
Yes, there is demand. We don’t know if there is enough demand to justify spending the development and support budget. The free support forever model implodes at some point.
