Sky direct connection to beam via HDMI?

Currently I have an optical connection from Sky mini to Beam via HDMI converter. HDMI goes to TV.

When watching Netflix/Disney/Amazon via Sky, surround sound 5.1 is only available via HDMI output not optical output.

Is it possible to get a HDMI splitter with audio going to the beam ARC connection? 

I do not want to go ARC via TV, as TV plumbed into wall.

It sounds like you just need an HDMI audio extractor to insert into the line between the Sky box and the TV. This would output DD5.1 audio as optical, which you’d then pass through the existing dongle into the Beam.

There are many available on Amazon.

Thanks. Had tried a hdmi splitter but realise I need one that has an optical output for audio not a hdmi as nothing seems to work with an arc input.
