Roam 2 pair: slow to catch up when unpausing BT

I use a Roam 2 stereo pair over Bluetooth as bedroom TV speakers. Works fine, *except*: if you pause the TV, then (a little later) unpause, it takes about 5-8 seconds before it plays an audio - before that: silence. It also does this when turning the TV on, but that's less annoying.

 

Is there any way of disabling whatever sleep mode this is?

No. As far as I’m aware, this is built in to Bluetooth, although that’s a guess. Certainly Sonos has no setting to ‘adjust’ that.
