Can you play music through playbar while listening to tv through SL1 in another room. When I have tv on both and try to swap to music on playbar they both stop.

No, you can't. You can play sound from a source to another speaker (that's called grouping), but not have the source play something else at the same time.

Yes. The key point is that the ‘TV’ source is only available (and hence visible in the Browse menu) when a home theatre player is a member of the group.
