Hi

I need to reset my LG CX soon for something, and I will need to connect my sonos arc back up, I have a question about the tv setup option via the sonos app, is important that I go through that to set it back up?

I cant remember doing it last time I just connected it to tv and set it to hdmi arc.

Thanks

You should’nt need to do anything with your Sonos Arc - it will continue working as before. Just switch to the HDMI-eARC port and switch on ‘Simplink’ on your TV.

Perhaps check that the "LG Connector" has identified the device correctly in the Soundbar section, so that the universal remote is working. You should see ‘Sonos’ as the device manufacturer.

I have auto device detection disabled but I might enable that again.

One other thing for some reason the Sonos black and white screensaver is no longer showing for me,  tried rebooting already, only minor thing, but strange why it’s vanished.

Ok got the screensaver back by reconnecting hdmi cable.

I can’t seem to get my LG cx to auto detect the Sonos though and rename the hdmi port.

If you check the LG device connector first under “Settings/Connection” under Bluetooth/Soundbar - just check it shows Sonos as the manufacturer.

To then rename the HDMI port goto the Home Dashboard and select to edit your HDMI ports to rename them.

Note if using Apple HomeKit - check the ports names in there too as HomeKit as a habit of renaming them back to their previous names.

And I suggest switching on Auto-Device Detection and Auto-Power Sync too.

Thanks I always kept auto power sync off, don’t think that’s needed for the Sonos and I tend to disable CEC on my other devices.

Also can’t see that setting you mention under settings / connections.

The options are obviously upto you - I use the auto power sync so that my devices switch on when I switch to their respective HDMI ports as CEC on the other devices do not cause me any issues and that way I can use the ‘Magic Remote’ to then control all my connected devices.

I understand what you mean now about device connector, I checked that and could not see Sonos listed as a manufacturer, no worries I will just set it up and rename the hdmi port manually.

Thanks again

That’s okay - you just need to select the HDMI2-eARC port in the device connector to see the manufacturer - note if you find that you need to set it up manually, then when you get to the manufacturers page in the device connector setup wizard, you will like find you need to search for ‘Sonos’ to add/select as the Soundbar manufacturer… just for info.
