My Beam recognized my TV immediately when the replacement cable was installed

I had a horrible time getting my Beam to recognize my TV that does NOT have HDMI-ARC. I have to use the Optical Audio Adapter. After fiddling for 2+ hours it finally worked, but the next day started skipping out and eventually stopped working at all. I tried hooking up to 2 other devices with Optical Audio Out ports but with no success. Once customer service was able to get me a replacement Optical Audio Adapter, my Beam instantly recognized my TV. So be aware that there may be a bad batch of Optical Audio Adapters out there.
