I have just bought a Sonos arc to upgrade from a beam. Can I put the beam in another room on another TV, and use them at the same time to watch different channels ?

Yes you can, you can also rename the Beam to suit its new location - just goto ‘Settings/System/[Beam Room Name]’ in the Sonos App and in the menu options under ‘Room’ select it’s name to change it.

Note: If using Apple iOS devices and you have registered the Beam in the Home(Kit) App as an accessory to use with Siri etc; then don’t forget to rename the Beam in that App too.

When you connect the Beam to the new TV, it may work straight away if using HDMI-CEC over either an ARC/eARC connection, but if not, then aswell as enabling CEC on the TV, try running the ‘TV Setup’ option in the Beam room settings in the Sonos App too.

If using infrared to control the volume of the TV (that’s usually over an optical connection, rather than HDMI) then also setup the new TV ‘remote’ - that’s also an option you will find in the Beam ‘room’ settings in the App aswell.

HTH.
