Hello everybody, 

I have been using the Sonos arc with my LG TV for 4 months now and I have to report some of the issues, that hopefully will get fixed sooner or later.

I hope this could be useful for other people too and please let me know whether you have found any fixes.

 

#1 Selctive sync issue:

  1. External Source:
    • No issue with PC audio
    • No issue with Nintendo Switch audio.
  2. Internal apps:
    • No issue with Netflix
    • No issue with disney+
    • Big anticipation on you tube
    • Big anticipation on Prime video

My major problem is that the “sonos app” lip sync tool is not so precise.

It would be nice to add a sytem where we could input the “exact millisecond”. The “+1, +2 or +3” system add either too much or too few delay.

I am not sure what’s happening though, the signal is supposed to be pass through (I set it like that), so I am not undestanding why the TV is so much slower to show the pictures. Probably an LG problem, but it is super annoying.

At least, add the millisecond option.

#2 HDMI-CEC simply link automatically turning on.

Another big problem for me is that arc forces the HDMI-CEC and simply link option to turn on on its own in the LG CX. Each time the TV turn off-on, it’s “on” again. This cause any bluetooth headphone to keep disctonecting from the TV. It takes 4-5 click to switching off.

Again, I don’t know if it’s the arc or the LG TV, but I guess it’s a bit of both.

Can you make sure these settings are set on the LGCX and that the HDMI cable is definitely going from the arc into the earc port on the TV. I have the same TV, but don't use the internal apps as use a Nvidia shield, but all the apps you mentioned I have no issues with. 

 

Sound out: HDMI ARC

 

Additional settings:

 

DTV Audio Setting: Auto

HDMI input audio format: Bitstream

Digital sound out: pass through

eARC: Enabled

the HDMI is attached correctly, as for the other setting I will try them tonight.

I am not sure about DTV and HDMI input, I think they are in their standard default.

 

What about the Simply Link and HDMI-CEC problem?

It is under connections settings on LG CX, I alway swtich it off and it always comes back on after each TV reboot. It’s super annoying for the BT headphones.


Simplink (hdmi CEC) has always been a requirement of ARC, at least on the LG unfortunately. 

What is also connected to the TV that could be using it, or is it just the Sonos connected?


The switch might be using the Simplilink too. But when I turn it off, it stays off with the Switch.

I might pair the Headphone directly to the PC or the Switch.

It might solve the problem.
