My sony tv has only a HDMi ARC. Is it worth buying a SONOS ARC?
If i do want to use SONOS ARC - how do i get the best sound output from it?

Yes. Watch content that is Dolby Digital or better. Add a pair of surround speakers, and a Subwoofer to the Arc.

Even Atmos from streaming sources (using a compreessed stream) would be possible. Getting Atmos from uncompressed streams (Apple TV 4k, BD-player) would not be possible.
