Should be great. The Sonos doesn’t change based on what TV it is connected to, it just receives an ARC or eARC signal and processes whatever is sent.

Buy it and try it, but almost certainly an improvement. Sonos has generous returns periods in most countries. Check for your region, but you’ll probably have 30 days to decide if you like it.

If you are worried about the TV and room size you may want to consider stepping up to an Arc or Arc Ultra while the holiday sales make the prices much better.

We have an older Beam (gen 1) in a 15x15 foot square room and it does a far better job than the speakers on the 50" Sony TV we have there.

Thank you all for your great advice. I do have a Sonos generation two sound bar I just bought a new Samsung TV, I have sky running through it and on the settings on sky I have clicked it to Dolby digital plus which it tells me to do, I believe I have the HDMI cables in the right place but should I already know a difference in sound or is it only when ultra HD channels are being shown on sky. Please advise thank you.

No clue a out ultra HD channels as I don't have Sky.

If you look at the "now playing" screen on your Sonos app you will see the format your TV is sending to your Sonos. If it is showing a surround format then you should hear sound from the surrounds if the source has any there. Always a bit iffy as many times we see 5.1 but there is no sound present on the additio al channels.

I've seen lists here for movies that have multichannel content, take a bit of searching but that might help if Sky has nothing available for testing.
