I have:

sono amp

sonos Sub gen 3

sonos arc ultra

sonos architecture ceiling speakers

sonos architecture wall speakers

before I got the arc. The sound was in incredible. Blew my mind. But once I added the arc ultra, I found the sound would no longer play from the architecture speakers as they are now considered height speakers / surround speakers and I am making a leap here that if the sound is not destined for those speakers it. It no longer is sent unless it was supposed to. Like when listening in Dolby it does go to them.

Most noticed when listening to music some tracks sound night and day different. Almost terrible.

OR if I listen to music on Sonos app. Sounds great.  BUT if I listen to music from the tv ( you tube, Apple Music ) it sounds terrible again.

I would prefer to be able to play sound to the architecture speakers like before and just add the arc ultra as additional speakers.

could I use my other amp that I use seasonally Denny outside speakers and use it solely for my architecture speakers? And then group them together? Would that bring the sound back to what it was?

Does anyone else understand my gibberish.

When playing a TV source (i.e. from the HDMI-ARC input) the sound plays where the incoming format requires.  If it is surround, it will play surround.  If it is Atmos, it will play Atmos.  If it is 2.0 stereo, it will play in stereo.  Only music sources not coming from the HDMI-ARC input play in all speakers (and only if the “Full” settings for Music sources is set in the surround settings).

As to changing that, grouping anything with a TV source will cause an echo, so I would not recommend it, and a “stereo on all speakers” mode for TV/HDMI-ARC sources has been requested before, but has never come to fruition.

Today I disconnected my outside speakers to utilize that amp for just my architectural speakers. And then use my other amp just for the arc and sub. And it gave me all the sound that I wanted, but I can see that there’s a little hiccoughs here and there because I guess it’s I don’t know trying to sync always which is kind of a pain so I’ve reverted back but it was close to what I wanted just if you didn’t have that delay it’d be perfect.
