Feature Request: Arc Ultra Center Channel Control

Can we please get center channel control on the Arc Ultra, it’s currently set 4-6dB too loud! Which makes it so loud over music and any panning vocals or voices.

Hi @nathug75

Welcome to the Sonos Community!

Thank you - I've marked this thread as a feature request and it will be seen by the relevant teams for consideration. Keep the ideas coming!

I love how Sonos is like, “I've marked this thread as a feature request...Keep the ideas coming!” Meanwhile, this has been requested countless times over years, and they clearly have no intention to satisfy it. That’s called gaslighting! And before anyone chimes in, stating how hard it might be, other manufacturers handle it just fine and I GUARANTEE it wouldn’t be as hard to maintain as the perpetually poorly performing virtual center channel they maintain, now. Anyways, glad I’m hearing the Ultra also has center-channel issues; I was about to upgrade from my Arc, I won’t bother, now.

That is the standard Sonos boilerplate answer, and is no different from any other request.  Some eventually get released, some don’t.  Therefore, your post really isn’t the indictment you wish it to be.  Sorry about that.

Incorporating gaslighting into the standard boilerplate answer IS an indictment, actually.

Whatever.  Some requests get released, some don’t.  That’s not gaslighting, because the people who give that corporate-speak “answer” have no control over what does or doesn’t make it to development.  Which is why complaining about it here is rather juvenile.  Better to just read between the lines and have no expectations.

Capitulation noted

The purported purpose of a community forum is to “complain” about things and suggest enhancements. A response inclusive of such notions as complaining in a user forum is juvenile and, “read between the lines and have no expectations,” is insubstantial. Whereas an argument cannot be won via erroneous and irrelevant facts, it is indeed a capitulation, albeit one devoid of integrity.

Actually, this is mainly a user’s community, where users help other users.  There are a couple moderators who keep the peace, but their input beyond that isn’t much more than you see in this thread; acknowledging a request and promising to “pass it on”.  So no, the notion that this reply is anything except a cursory acknowledgement carrying no expectations of any result is most certainly not “insubstantial”.  Additionally, the fact that some requests have been implemented in the past invalidates the original accusation that “they clearly have no intention to satisfy” anything suggested as also incorrect, along with the accusation of gaslighting.

And with that, I’m done here.  Feel free to have the last word.
