Hello!

I am trying to understand why the middle speaker isn’t “working” when used as rear with Arc Ultra.

I almost feel like I don’t hear my rear. I understand that the “Atmos” is working because the side speakers work.
But is it ment that the middle speaker shouldn’t work as rear speakers?

The front driver is disabled on purpose to avoid direct sound being heard from a rear speaker.  You want ambience not ping-pong.  I love the sound of my 300 surrounds particularly with Dolby Atmos music.

Because the speakers are optimized for your room, and the optimization process has set the levels accordingly.  Not every speaker needs to be firing at full volume at all times for optimized sound.
