Hi, I know this question was already asked several years ago, so I thought maybe it’s been updated since.

I’ve got an Arc Ultra, Sub 4, and 2 300s, and I’d like to use a different configuration when listening to music then when watching TV. Basically, I’d like turn off the surround sound, when listening to music.

Anybody know how to do that easily?

Thanks everybody.

You just want music through the Arc Ultra? The best you can do is turn down to minimum the Surrounds volume setting for music, and maybe set them to Ambient rather than Full.

If it’s not clear, this is what nik is referring to .

No, I want the music to play on the Arc and the 2 300s, but not using a surround profile, as that tunes down the 300s, using the Arc as a „main“ speaker.

Set the surrounds to Full, and adjust the Music volume setting in Surrounds to achieve a balance between Ultra and surrounds. (Unless your music source is a music channel through the tv, in which case there’s not much you can do since the Ultra can only “distribute” the sound according to the nature of the signal it receives.)
