Feature Request: Currently, for the Arc, there is no dedicated center channel nor controls. Additionally, when surrounds are used, the side-speakers of the Arc are disabled. I’d like to request the option to select simulated (current) or real surround. By real, I mean a dedicated center channel distinct from left and right channels. And when that option is selected, a wider sound stage can be achieved by NOT disabling the side-speakers. Call it ‘expert mode’ or something, but let US decide how to use the system as per our preferences and have tuning options for that.

Thank you - I've marked this thread as a feature request, and it will be seen by the relevant teams for consideration. Keep the ideas coming!

For the record, I am not aware of the side speakers being disabled when rear surrounds are configured, though they certainly play different audio in such a situation.

After a brief amount of research, you appear to be correct. I’d seen a video where a Sonos rep stated, when surrounds are added, the side channels are turned off. It seems they are actually repurposed to the front channels, vice surround. Perhaps they were, at one time, totally turned off; regardless, not the case now, so thanks!
