I'd like to connect a Fluance RT81 turntable to my 3.1 playbar/sub system. It looks like the turntable has a built in pre-amp with an RCA output. Do I need to purchase a Sonos Connect or Connect:AMP, or can I simply get an RCA > RJ45 adapter and plug/play through my Playbar?

No you would need an analog to digital optical converter. Flexson make one I believe. You will need an optical switch too as you will have two optical inputs to the Playbar
