Which alternatives do I have when it comes to get movie sound on my beam from either my bluray-player or my projector? Have been trying with hdmi. Doesn’t that work for some reason?

+24Sonos is seldom a good choice for PJ use, and this PJ (like many) lacks the required features (ie optical output or HDMI-ARC).
However you could probably just take the optical audio signal from the Sony and use the optical adapter that comes with the Beam to connect it. Assuming you can make that emit a DD 5.1 signal, which I can’t tell from the specs I could find.
