When trying to connect my play 5 generation 2 and Sonos 1 as surrounds to my Beam I just get the message 2 compatible speakers are required.  I can’t get past this and they are both connected to Wi-Fi.

Hi @PTWL.

Welcome, thank you for reaching out to Sonos Community since you already tried some troubleshooting steps let me try to assist you.

Sonos products that can be used as surround speakers

Only products of the same model can be used together as surround speakers. For example, two Sonos Ones can be used for surround sound but One and Play:1 cannot. However, related models like One and One SL can be used together as surround speakers.

  • One (all generations) and One SL
  • Play:1
  • Play:3
  • Play:5 (Gen 2)
  • Five
  • IKEA SYMFONISK WiFi bookshelf speaker
  • IKEA SYMFONISK table lamp with WiFi speaker
  • Amp powering third party speaker
  • Connect:Amp powering third party speaker

Let us know if it works. If you need help with any other information, please be sure to let us know.
