which sonos system is better for a living room, Arc+Sub(gen3)+2 One SL or Arc+Sub(gen3)+2 fives. I have visited several forums and videos and I am not sure which sound is better.

There is no advantage in using Fives for rear surround duty over SLs for TV audio. For music playback, when in full sterep mode, the Fives can be viewed as improvement, but that SLs will sound very good. IMO, the gain is no where near the extra $600 or so.
Look at it this way, Sonos sells a speaker package with SLs for rear audio. They do have a package for Fives as rear audio.
