Beam: Keeps switching back to ARC from Bluetooth - how to stop?

Hi. I have an LG C8 OLED TV and a Beam, connected Via HDMI Arc. I also have some Sony Bluetooth headphones. Whenever I try and play the TV audio via Bluetooth after 2 seconds it switches back to Arc. Is there anyway to prevent this? I have to pull the HDMI lead out of the Beam, but can it be disabled via the app or some other way? Thanks.

I have the same problem as Badgercop. It seems that this is pretty common as shown by these similar threads in the sidebar to this thread. The best, though not optimal, solution seems to be to turn off the HDMI-CEC connection on your TV. It would be nice of SONOS would fix the APP to handle this situation. The problem is not solely with LG systems - both Samsung and Sony are referenced in the other threads.

Which workaround using fiber are you speaking of? I thought the workaround was using optical for the connection between the TV and the Sonos Arc? The Arc ships with an optical to ARC adapter, as far as I know.

A workaround using fiber is no option for me because the Sonos ARC does not support fiber :-(

There’s an optical to HDMI-ARC adapter included with every Arc.

On my LG CS  I was able to solve this problem by disabling the TV's universal control settings for this input. I left HDMI-CEC on.

I had the same issue and found that changing the Digital Audio Out setting on my LG tv to 'Auto' stopped the flickering happening and it accepted the Bluetooth setting. Had to put it back onto Pass Through when I had finished using my Sony WH 1000 MK3 headphones to get the optimum sound from my Sonos setup after I had finished using my headphones so a bit of a pain but a welcome solution.

If you have Sonos Arc and want to listen Bluetooth headphones then buying the Sonos Ace (Sonos headphones) is the answer because Sonos headphones communicate with Sonos Arc to stop sound and send to headphones.

I wished they had a Sonos app switch to temp disabled the arc from TV.

I figured out how to fix. You just go to your audio settings on your LG and turn on the “ears” setting. My Sonos Ace kept flipping off every couple seconds. This resolved it.

Yes, I’m using LG OLED SMART TV too, every time i connect my bluetooth headphones to my tv, 3 seconds later the sound will go back to the beam.

is there anyone with the solution? this is a major issue.

Hi, i definitely not the only one with an LG that can't switch off simplink while the beam is connected through arc. .If you read through the whole thread,, many people mentioned it already. If you swifch simplink off, it automatically switches back on within seconds. That is when the beam is connected.

Ya, i wonder if there is a solution yet, it’s been many years.
