Beam DD Input Arc Issue

Hi, I bought a Beam about 2 months ago, linked to my Sony KDL-32W705C (up to date software), through HDMI Arc. Into the TV I have Roku, Virgin Tivo V6 & PS3 for Blu-Ray, all connected via HDMI.

A couple of days ago I bought 2 Symfonisk bookshelf speakers, and they linked up no problem.

Today, I have been playing around trying to get Dolby Digital sorted, but no joy. I have set all options to what seem to be the correct ones, but no joy.

When watching through any of the above devices, all that shows as being inputted to the Beam is PCM Stereo 2.0, never DD.

After reading many, many similar threads, adjusting all the settings, I tried watching something on the TV itself, not an attached device, and I was getting DD2.0.

This is very frustrating, and I sincerely want to get it sorted. I’d appreciate any help very much, thank you!

Yes, although as my TV is roughly 5 years old, the apps are limited.

No Disney+ available, but tried YouTube, and the best I could get from that via the TV app was PCM stereo.

Just been doing more reading, and there is so much conflicting info it's unbelievable!

Seen Sonos experts say that anything broadcast in DD+ to a Beam will be automatically downgraded to DD.

    Is that accurate?

And if so, from my Roku, why do I recieve DD when sent as DD, but recieve Stereo PCM when DD+ is sent? (From Disney+ etc).

Youtube is always stereo. Chromecast seems te be DD+, so stereo on the Beam.
