Hi I’ve an old tv so have to use the optical adapter to connect my beam. The issue is the beam and the tv plays sound. So it’s creating an echo. How do I turn off the sound on my tv

Since we don’t know what TV you have, it’s only left to advise you to look at the audio settings on your TV set. Presumably there’s a setting there to turn off the speakers.

I would like to recommend calling your TV manufacturer’s technical support team to have them walk you through on how to disable the TV speaker or change the audio out on TV settings from TV speakers to audio optical. This would eliminate sound echo and disable the TV speakers.
