Arc sound is ‘dead’

I bought an arc 8 months ago and am really disappointed with it. The sound is dead (for want of a better way to describe it) and when watching movies I’m back to turning up the sound to hear dialogue and turning down the sound when there are loud noises. 

any help out there?

What type of audio are you getting from the Arc? Stereo PCM? Dolby Digital Plus? Dolby Atmos? Have you performed Trueplay tuning? 

If you turn on Night Sound (moon icon) in the Sonos app, it will help keep loud and quiet sounds closer to the same level.
