Hello to all.
Let’s assume I’m going to buy an Apple TV 4K, and connect it to my TV via HDMI.
The TV is connected via optical to Playbar, and I have both Sub and 2x play:1.
None of my Sonos speakers is going to be updated with Airplay 2, like I.e. Playbase or Sonos One.
But Apple TV is airplay 2 compatible.
Can I cast music from my IPhone (Apple Music) directly to Apple TV and listen to it with my Sonos 5.1 setup?
If yes, to let it work, must I turn on the TV screen or not?

Thanks

Yes you can cast to an AppleTV with airplay 2. If your playbar is connected to your tv, unless the tv has some sort of pass through I've never heard of, you'll need to have your tv on. You probably can get an hdmi spltter that will take the apple tv hdmi out and split it to hdmi to the tv and optical to the playbar. Of course, that would make it so the playbar only works with the apple tv and possibly other complications. Probably easier just to turn on the tv.
