My family enjoys backyard movies. I am setting up an Amp with outdoor speakers. If I have my iPad plugged into the projector (for video), can I simultaneously use Airplay to the Amp for the sound? Or does plugging into the iPad make Airplay through the Amp unavailabile? Thank you

I would go ahead and plug your iPad into the projector and begin playing a movie. Then check if AirPlay devices are available/listed in the iOS AirPlay dialogue box available either from the video player or the iOS control centre ... if the list of devices are showing/selectable, then there is no reason why you should not be able to play to the Sonos Amp, once its added to your setup.

What maybe slightly more difficult to establish, is if the transmitted video-out from your projector, would 'lip-sync' with the AirPlay audio sent out to the Amp.

It may work, but it's perhaps a case of 'try it & see'.
