Community consensus: Impossible or difficulty to connect bluetooth headphones to Sonos

Google AI:  Yes you can - if you have a ‘bluetooth transmitter’ - but Sonos devices are receivers only

Sonos App: ‘Add headphone’ → steps a b and c

Me: Sonos App procedure doesn’t work. But isn’t my phone or computer a ‘bluetooth transmitter’?

So what is going on ?  Can I or can’t I use bluetooth headphones?

SONOS players cannot transmit Bluetooth to 3rd party devices. You could connect a Bluetooth transmitter to a PORT’s Line-Out.

Phone/pad/computers can stream Bluetooth directly to the SONOS ACE headset, however, it is not possible to stream to ACE as if it was a regular SONOS speaker.

ACE can integrate with some cellphones as the phone’s Bluetooth headset.

The only headphone you can ad to the Sonos app is the Sonos Ace. No non-Sonos headphones can be added to the app. And the Sonos Ace does only uses the app for updates en sound swap.
