Sonos Ace Siri activation.

My Sons Ace no longer activates Siri. It’s not an issue with my phone as have now replaced my phone to a new iPhone 16 and the issue remains. Long pressing the sound control button on the ace does nothing. I’ve spent ages on with Sonos customer services (who were trying to be helpful to be fair) but to no avail. I’ve now very disappointingly received the below email from Sonos which I find unacceptable. Anyone else had this issue?

I hope this email finds you in good health. My name is Daniela, level 2 member and your case has been escalated to us. I'm sorry about the inconvenience with the Ace not activating Siri any more, I checked and this is actually not a Sonos Ace feature, it may be possible for it to activate by doing a long press in the ANC button, however, if you check the User's guide, there is nothing related to Siri and the Ace being compatible, that said, if it is not working now, we don't have troubleshooting steps for it since this is not part of the Ace's supported features.

I’ll check that again on my Ace. However, Apple is known to prevent 3rd party hardware from accessing its proprietary features. There was a time when Sonos could be controlled on the iPhone Lock Screen. Sonos was informed to remove the hack or be banned from accessing Sonos on their devices.

Point being even if worked in the pass it was never an official feature of the Ace. Here’s one more… the Ace can actually turn on your TV that is connected to an Arc series or Beam 2. However, that is not an official feature mentioned in the product guide nor FAQ’s pertaining to the Ace.

I checked the feature mentioned in the video and it no longer activates Siri. I tried with Ace on and off my head. So it may have worked at one time; but that’s neither here nor there as it was never a supported feature by Sonos. Therefore there is no issue with the Sonos Ace.

First of all there is no issue regarding Ace and Siri.

Siri is an Apple Voice Assistant. Siri voice activation has never been a feature of the Ace nor any Sonos product. That said Siri will respond thru your Ace under following conditions:

  • The Ace is connected to you iPhone via Bluetooth
  • Your iPhone has Siri turned on to listen at all times; even when locked and/or without pressing the side button
  • Your iPhone is near by
  • Speaking any Siri voice activation command will prompt Siri to respond and can be heard through your Ace

Please let me know how you get on, re if this works on yours. It’s frustrating that this worked previously for me and now doesn’t and it’s key it works for me.
