Hello,
I cannot use my Sonos Ace microphone on online calls (Google meets, Microsoft teams...) when I choose the stereo sound output (which is the sound quality I prefer because the Hand-Free AG audio is not good), only my laptops audio is possible to use. I could use both audio output and headsets microphone on my previous Airpods pro, so i don’t understand why i cannot use them on my Sonos Ace.
Hi
I’m sorry to hear that you’re having trouble with your Sonos Ace. You should be able to use the Ace with Teams and Google Meets, other community users have mentioned using the Ace this way before and that it works for them.
From a bit of Googling, you’ll want to use the Hand-Free AG as this is the Bluetooth profile/codec that allows Bluetooth headphones to use the microphone. Because of the limited bandwidth available for Bluetooth devices, some of it needs to be used for the microphone. Why your Airpods Pro allowed this I don’t know, but you’ll see this same limitation on Ace across other headphones that connect via Bluetooth.
These are the options you have for connecting the Sonos Ace:
- Hand-Free AG - This will allow both audio input and output using the Ace through Bluetooth.
- Stereo - This will only allow audio output from the Ace, a secondary microphone will need to be used for input.
- USB-C Cable - This will allow both audio input and output using the Ace though a cabled connection.
Please note that a USB-C to USB-C cable must be used if you wish to use the microphone as the Sonos Aux cable does not carry microphone data.
My recommendation would be to connect via a USB-C to USB-C cable for higher quality audio and to allow the use of your microphone for Teams and Google Meets.
I hope this information helps!
You need to turn off studio sound in the video call system as the noise cancellings step on each other
