The Sonos Ace is an exceptional set of Headphones. They’re very comfortable and perform in every way Sonos designed them to.
I’ve used/tested every feature that is listed on the Sonos Ace landing page at Sonos.com; including making and receiving phone calls. The music and cinematic experience is top notch either through a compatible Sonos soundbar (Arc, Beam, Beam 2, Ray) or Bluetooth using your device to listen to music.
Quite a few people expected them to act like a Sonos speaker and work over WiFi. I’m OK with the fact that they don’t. Frankly, I expected the theater experience using Audio Swap with a Sonos soundbar to be the path taken. Just call me Psychic
I also like the fact that you can set the Ace to use multiple soundbars and select the one you want to use afterwards. I use them with Arc x 3 and Beam2 depending upon the room I’m in. The Ace works with my iPhone, iPad and Android tablet.
Can the Ace be improved? Yes. However, for Sonos’ first generation headset there’s very little to be desired at this time that would/should deter you from purchasing a set. Sonos IMO checked all the relevant boxes with the Ace that should place them on your short list of headphones in the arena they compete in.
