Hello @virtus, welcome to the Sonos Community!
How are you connecting your Sonos Ace to your Windows PC? I’ve been using mine mainly wired to my PC via USB and I also have a separate wired microphone set as default on Windows.
When gaming, I prefer using the Sonos Ace wired, just to avoid any possible delays from the Bluetooth connection and the Sonos Ace microphone is not used.
When I’m not wearing the Sonos Ace for about 15-20 minutes, the audio automatically changes back to my Sonos Era 300 which is connected via Bluetooth.
Make sure to change the default microphone input from Windows to be your dedicated wired one, instead of just the in-game settings, because sometimes Windows settings override in-game settings.
I hope this helps.
Hi @Sotiris C., thanks for providing your perspective!
I’m not using wired connection, the cable that came with the headset is way too short, and the PC doesn’t have USB-C ports. Another reason is that, while I also prefer using cable for speed and less issues, my girlfriends hates cables and don’t want them in her setup. It is for her setup with my headset I’m trying to solve this
The default microphone is indeed set correctly (CP → Hardware & Sound → Manage Audio Devices → Recordings). Some games also don’t have options for sound output, so in some scenarios it can’t even be manually changed there.
Even weirder, some games don’t even use the microphone at all, since the game don’t have any kind of voice related support, so it makes no that it would change to hands-free mode.
