Im considering adding the Sonos noise cancelling headphones to my setup - mostly for me to listen to music but there are times when I want to watch TV and my wife doesnt want to listen !
Can the headphones be used just in noise cancelling mode ? So no music - just nice and quiet ?

Yes, Ace can be used in ANC mode without any audio playing.
You will be able to use TV Swap to connect Ace with your Sonos Arc.
For music playback, that will not use your Sonos system, but will be via a Bluetooth connection to your mobile/tablet/computer etc.

If you can grab the TV from the spouse you can also select a music app there, I use Amazon's, and then do the audio-swap to listen to it using the headphones.
