Connect Sonos Ace to Sonos Ray Soundbar for TV Swap feature

Don’t worry - it’s not you!  I have exactly the same issue!  Tried everything except throwing them at the screen - that is next!  Definitely not intuitive.

I don’t know a solution for your individual problem. I just can tell from my own experiences that Ace hasn’t got a problem with that in general. For me with my Sonos Beam and for a friend of mine with a Beam and also a Ray in his household tv swap works without issues. 
So imo there probably might be something different on your systems… but it’s to find out WHAT is different. Did you try sending a diagnostic from within Sonos app and telling the confirmation code to someone from support team. They can take a look at it and analyze the diagnostic data to check for the failure reason. 

My Ace are driving me nuts with inconsistencies.

Only good news for me is even if the Ace shows as not connected, and there is no swap option shown on the controller, holding the swap button down on the ear cup still gets the swap to work.

Still shows as disconnected though so you can’t check the battery level or adjust the sound.

I’m sitting on things for now, I’ll load the next update and start with a factory-reset of the Ace and see if things improve. I really love having them even with the current glitches.

Hey… that really sounds frustrating. I suppose using Android controller in this case is more buggy than iOS app. I tried to connect my Ace to both… iPhone and Android, but Ace didn’t appear in Android app. 
Just after factory reset I was able to connect Ace to both phones including correct integration on the controller app. 

I have an Apple tablet thingie I got to use Trueplay, no clue how to use it beyond pushing the power button and Sonos icon but I see that in my future.

Waiting on the next App drop and maybe an Ace update to land before I dig it out and see. Initially went through several Android install / reset cycles with the current software so waiting seems to be the way to go there too.

I’ve had success connecting Ace to iOS (iPhone 15 ProMax) and Android (Samsung Galaxy Tab A9+). On Android try this…

Make sure the that Ace is not connected to BT in the device settings. It can show as registered in BT but should not have an active connection when trying to use with Audio Swap.

I’m confused by the title to this thread. According to the FAQ on the sales page, it says:

What soundbars work with Sonos Ace?

Sonos Ace works with Arc. See faq.sonos.com/sonos-ace/tv-swap for more information.

There is no indication that it will work with a Sonos Ray, and I wouldn’t expect it to.

Just FYI, (and you may already know this) if you have multiple soundbars you can set the Ace to connect to all of them. The Ace will allow you to select which soundbar you want to initiate Swap. I have four setup: Arc x 3 and Beam2.

I'm having exactly the same problem with the Ace and a Beam.

Just tried it again, ensuring that there was no active Bluetooth connection and guess what- nothing. Audio TV Swap just not working.

Welcome to the Sonos Community!

I’m sorry to hear of this issue you’ve been having getting your Ace headphones connected to your Ray speaker.

Please note that in order for TV Audio Swap to work, the sound-bar being used must have it’s WiFi enabled. Settings » [room] » [product] » Enable WiFi.

If neither this nor @AjTrek1’s advice regarding Bluetooth helps, I recommend you get in touch with our technical support team who have tools at their disposal that will allow them to give you advice specific to your Sonos system and what it reports.

I've been waiting for over a week for technical support to get back to me. I had a call log ********, which went through first level support, which I was told was being referred to second level- when I phoned again I was told that the lig had been closed. It was supposedly re-opened, but still silence.

Probably not worth bothering again!

Was this problem solved? I am having issues with TV swap working with Sonos Ray sound bar. Is there any solution?

No, it wasn't.

Had to be replaced.
