Question

google assistant and timer not sounding

Google Assistant timers on Beam are created and count down correctly but make no completion sound. Google Assistant alarms on the same Beam sound normally. Issue persists after removing and re-adding Google Assistant. Is there a bug? It was working fine until a few weeks ago, I haven’t touched any settings.

Same issue here. This started maybe two weeks ago. Alarms work but timers do not. This is frustrating.

Make sure you call in, as well. As discussed in the Diagnostics - How do they work? thread, diagnostics are ignored unless you call in.

Also having this problem on Sonos One! No timers…

Interesting observation is if you set a timer for 5 mins then power cycle the Arc, you can then hear the alarm go off when the 5 mins is up.  However subsequent timers doesn't go off.   Seems like a memory issue if it's not api related to gemini.

Update: nope doesn't work anymore. It's full wonker now

I have the same issue.

Same problem here. Seems like Google assistant is being phased out and we'll be left with just Sonos devices. Doesn't seem right that they can just phase out a feature that was my main reason for purchasing

I have similar symptoms with my Bose 900 speakers too. So, it seems like Google assistant is phased out. It's no good to disable an existing feature since I was using the timer functions on the devices. Can Sonos officially comment!

Same for me, has been happening for a couple of weeks. My Move says that it has set the timer. You can check the status of the timer. It counts right down, but then the chime simply doesn’t sound.

As a separate issue, Assistant has not been able to even be re-added to my Beam 2 for well over a year now, despite reassurances that this was being worked on.

If Google integration is being phased out can we just be told, so we can move onto something that works?

I agree with you. It's been a waste of time and Sonos ignoring their product user. I was cooking something when it stopped working for the first time. I overcooked and burned the food. Then tried firmware update, link unlink sonos from google home but no luck. Google still works on all Bose soundbars. Not sure why it's a nuiscance with Sonos. I don't like the way Sonos is ignoring this issue and decided not to worry about anymore Sonos product in future.
