Hey folks, I wanted to give you a heads up about a change that affects Google Assistant on Sonos.
Google has announced that it’s moving users from Google Assistant over to Gemini and because of this shift, Android phones will only support Gemini going forward. This change takes effect today, 4 September 2026. This means that the Google Assistant app is no longer available for voice set up with the Sonos app.
If you still want to use Google Assistant with your Sonos system, you'll need to use an iOS device like an iPhone or iPad.
