This 14.12 volume mapping is the worst! Used to listen to tv at 20…now it’s around 50. The Sonos employee that thought this up must have woke up with his/her head stuck where the sun doesn’t shine. Curse every time I see this volume crap.

Surely it’s just a number? If your ears say it’s loud enough, isn’t that ok? If the top end volume is the same now as pre-14.2 and there’s better control at the quieter end of the scale, some would say that’s an improvement.

I thought I read Sonos said that they changed the mapping to make it easier to find the right volume at lower volumes?

At volume #10 is nothing. At #20 tv is super low. Totally ridiculous. They want to change the Sub and Arc, fine. No need to fool with the volume. Don’t know why , but the original poster Caroline

My main TV doesn’t display volume numbers. Know what I do? I turn it up/down until it is at the level I want. I suggest everyone else do the same.

Your “answer” didn’t really address my point,
There is now greater granularity in the control at lower volumes by making the numerical value non-linear. Pre-version 14.12 your speaker, set at volume 20 and playing at, say, 64 decibels is still playing at the same decibel level with the volume set at or around 50 in the post-14.12 release. Why does this upset you so much?
