Been trying to tune for a few weeks, but always get an error message about ambient noise. While waiting on line for Sonos tech support, I moved from my  usual armchair position over to the couch (a distance of 7 feet) and voilà, it completed the tuning.

For readers of this topic, other steps that can help are:

  • removing the phone’s case
  • trying with another device
  • turning off nearby devices (those that may make noise)
  • ensuring your fingers do not slide on the surface of the phone during the TruePlay Tuning process

 


In addition which I learned from this forum turn off bluetooth on your phone. Any more I close all apps on the phone as well. Hope this helps!
