Yes, there are a lot users facing serious problems using their systems. Especially older devices seem to struggle with the new app. Classic Sonos users using their own music from PC’s ar NAS devices where caught thee times: beside severely hampering this function in the early stages of the app and only slowly bringing functions back to the new app , Sonos also stopped supporting the most used ways to listen to music from your PC or a NAS - without also reworking the PC and Mac app to reflect this. Sonos also had to pull the plug on the much used alarm function at the last minute, only to ad it again at a much later date. And Sonos could be more transparent about the how and why of this. The rolling out of the new app was an accident waiting to happen.
But the closing of this article reads like this:
”And those 15.3 million households with Sonos systems are watching closely, wondering if their next audio upgrade should stay within the ecosystem.
For now, our Sonos speakers mostly sit silently in inventory, collecting dust rather than streaming music. “
This is way over the top. I dare say most users haven’t even noticed the new app at all because they have a much easier use case or are using newer devices only.
