I’m very disappointed that Sonos radio plays tracks that have profanity without having warnings….Actually what really bothers me is the inability to remove songs from being played. It’s not like the "radio” stations are actually actively DJ’d by real people.

 

I have these stations playing in a healthcare office setting where a broad demographic of people come through so profanity really doesn’t set the mood. I’ve liked Sunset Fuzz and Poet’s Corner to name a few and each have a song or two that comes on that has profanity. 


Is it possible to add functionality to remove songs? Or to provide lists of the tracks played? Realistically, these stations are just a playlist since you hear repeats several times a day…

It also seems that these forums have a ton of sections for managing the hardware, but not a whole lot to communicate about the music services that sonos offers. IMO the stations and music are a big part of “sonos product”.

You are using a system made for consumers in a public setting. Instead of seeking a solution that would also affect users listening in their home environment, by censoring their music, would Sonos Pro (Pro: The Premier Sound Solution for Businesses | Sonos) maybe bring a solution for public settings?

But it’s not a playlist.  It’s a real-time stream going out to every Sonos device that wishes to listen.  Splitting those streams into one that skips and one that doesn’t is impossible.  They would need to have two separate stations, one with profanity and one without, and currently they don’t do this.

If you really wish to have no-profanity radio type playback, tune one of the Sonos Radio stations that are advertised for all ages, or use a service that allows filtering of explicit content (Apple Music, Amazon Music, or YouTube Music).

I understand that it is what it is, and that there are other streaming service available, but I would also like an option to hear a particular radio station without explicit content. I do use the ad free Sonos radio, and can skip songs, but I’d rather not have to do that.
