Can anyone tell me if installing the Sonos Arc Soundbar above a linear gas fireplace on a mantel if you’ve had any heat issues? We are building and would like feedback. We are planning on recessing a Sony Bravia 65” TV and allowing 2” of space around it for ventilation. Then, putting a non-combustible mantel below to set the Sony Arc Soundbar on which is a 12” area including the shelf height. The distance from bottom of mantel to fireplace would be about another 7 ½“. The total distance overall we have to work with is 19” from bottom of TV to the top of linear gas fireplace which we are hoping a noncombustible mantel can be placed for the soundbar and be safe from heat issue. Would like feedback from anyone whe has done something similar. Thanks!

This would be a question to ask your contractor. From the ARC specifications, operating temperature is 32°F to 104°F (0°C to 40°C). I’m not concerned unless glow from the heater can be directed to ARC. Normally, a heater is recessed and glow will be directed away from the walls and surrounding shelves.
