Sonos amp (2023) stopped working

My Sonos Amp (about 3 years old, ~$1,200) has completely failed! Theres a  popping/static sound and nothing...

I went through full troubleshooting and spoke with Sonos support, and the conclusion is that the amp itself is faulty. Since it’s out of the 2-year warranty, the only option offered was to replace it.

Honestly, that’s disappointing for a premium product at this price point, especially with no repair option available.

Has anyone else experienced this? Were you able to get any goodwill replacement or help from Sonos or the local importer?

Where did you purchase an Amp for $1,200 US dollars? That certainly seems to be way out of line, given the regular purchase price directly from Sonos, or through places like Amazon.

I’m not aware of any repair facilities here in the US at all, but there have been rumblings here in this forum of some (or one) in the UK, and perhaps others in the EU. Of course, none are ‘officially supported’ by Sonos, but at the point they’re needed, that’s not really an issue, especially if you spent $1,200 US on a device.

Like any other computer out there, a Sonos device can be somewhat sensitive to power fluctuations, and its possible it has reacted poorly in your case, I wouldn’t know for certain. And all electronics, even from the most revered manufacturer has a fail rate, which is probably why Sonos offers guarantees and support for their products, just perhaps the guarantee isn’t as long as you’d like.

Good luck in your quest. I hope you’re able to resolve your issues to your satisfaction.

If the Amp was from a legitimate source (that price suggests not) Sonos may offer a discount on a new product if you haven't tampered with the failed Amp's seals.

When you get a replacement add a QUALITY (quality is not the same as expensive) surge suppressor and if so inclined take advantage of the warranty extensions Sonos offers. I include both with any Sonos I am giving as a gift.

$800 and often less if you shop sales.

The OP is most likely quoting the $1200 cost as the equivalent to a price paid in thier native currency as a courtesy to us “Dumb” Americans in the USA. 😂 At least I hope so 🤔
