Network configuration?

Hello,

I have a question about my current setup. Everything works smoothly, but I'm curious about its efficiency and best practices.

My system includes an Amp, a Play:1, and a Play:3. For my wi-fi, I have two mesh nodes: a primary router and a satellite. The Amp is connected via ethernet to the router, while the Play:1 is wired to the satellite. The Play:3, however, isn't wired to any device. As of now the Sonos system uses SonosNet.

Is this configuration optimal? Should I continue using SonosNet or configure the Sonos devices to connect through the standard network. Additionally, if keep using SonosNet, does it make a difference if the Play:1 is wired to the wi-fi mesh node or not?

Thank you for your guidance.

As long as everything works smoothly, keep it the way it is. If it ain’t broke...

Once one device is wired to Ethernet the others only strengthen the mesh. If your network hardware has issues when more are connected it is likely an STP issue that has a lot of posts here on solving.
