In bed now, need to get up to shutdown the move, why is this?

Not sure what you are asking. Why are you in bed? Why is there not a power setting for the Move in the controller?

Just like all Sonos speakers, the Move will go in to a low power state if it’s not receiving a signal.

Should we assume that your Move near your bed is not on the charger?

Is there a reason Sonos can't have an off control for the Move inside the app?

There isn’t an off for ANY Sonos device in the app.  For Speakers you would remove the power lead, for the Portable range you long press(over 7 secs) the power button on the rear.

Generally the Sonos speakers are designed to be on all the time, the portables designed to go to  sleep mode and wake on activity request.

    Let me rephrase my question,

Is there a reason Sonos can't have an off control for the Move inside the app?

Smart homes, IOT, Metaworlds, but I can't turn the speaker off without getting out of bed? This is unacceptable, and forcing me to wait 7 seconds for off to engage is ridiculous.  Has Sonos not heard of instant gratification?
