i have a cd player connected to an amp and stereo speakers (non Sonos). how can I also connect the CD so the music plays through my Sonos speakers in another room. What cable do I need if any?

You’d need a Sonos device that has an audio line in, such as the Sonos Five, or the Sonos Port. Connect a line level output from your current amp, such as a tape out, and connect that to the Sonos line in, and you should be good to go.
