Feature request - Longer sleep timer times.

He all, I’m setting up a sleep timer on Sonos so the music automatically turns off after a specified time period a lot. Usually, I put one for my cat to be honest, so he is not home alone too long in complete silence. However, I’d wish to have longer times. It’s I think not so difficult to add, but I was wonder if there can be longer times? Like 4, 6, 8 and 10, 12 hours?  :)

Or something like scheduling times to play music would also be a solution, but that’s more like a new feature. ;-)

For the love of our pets. <3

I don’t think for the sensible cat’s ears a home could be silent. Neither that they need human music to be better, perhaps a forest sounds, could be 😅.

I think you’re going of topic, and I notice defiantly music makes my cat feel better. 😻

I don't have a cat 😉 but agree the sleep timer would benefit from some changes. Personally I'd suggest that we be able to set the required hours and minutes flexibly as this would allow complete control by an individual user.

You can already do this with Alarms.

I do this with alarms to put it on, on a specific time, but I can’t put it than off. Haha. And my cat can’t neither. 😁

You can set the Duration for the Alarm… or you can use the web interface to start/stop playback.

You can set a duration for an alarm, or if you need longer times, make a playlist with a short or silent track and set the alarm to play that at the stop time.

Thanks for all the solutions and thinking along. There are ways I now hack the system, which often works, sometimes not because of the alarm not going off, giving a beep, or accepting its just for two hours. It’s more that it would just be very easy to add a few more list items for longer hours to the already existing list of ‘sleep timers’, especially given the fact that there is room in the UI, and for the front end it’s just duplicating and adjusting the time. 💡
